Geographical Information Systems (GIS)Our in-house GIS systems allow us to digitise all of our survey data and produce clear and detailed maps to recognised standards. At present we hold a significant amount of spatial data especially for Worcestershire including aerial raster overlays along with OS raster and vector data. This allows us to accurately map surveyed areas with precision and clarity. Examples of where GIS can be very useful includes mapping of Phase 1 or NVC habitats, presentation of bat activity data, data search results for wide areas, components of FEP or HLS schemes, mitigation of compensation features within developments, home range and territory use of badgers and many others. At Worcestershire Wildlife Consultancy we use MapInfo software developed by ESRI one of the most widely used leading GIS systems. This allows us to utilise and manage data from a wide array of sources accommodating the majority of data requirements. In addition we are happy to provide GIS data outputs in various formats as well as varied and accessible map presentations to suit all needs.
